An active Membership is the heart beat of most successful social organizations. The New Hampshire Ski Club is no exception.

The New Hampshire Ski Club membership year runs from 1 November  until the next succeeding 31 October.  With the exception of new members who may join on or after 1 June, their membership will run until the second succeeding October 31.  The rationale behind this option is that most trips and activities for the then current membership year have already occurred.   Regular members are expected to keep their membership active and will not be allowed to take advantage of the “New Member” sign up exception. 

Any and all members must have an Active Membership in order to sign up for a Day, Weekend or Week long trip. Members who wish to sign up for a trip that is one or even two seasons in the future must have and maintain an active membership.    For example if as in 2024 a trip is posted for 2026, such as was the case for Mammoth Mountain posted in August/September, and did not occur until March or 2026, any member who wished to participate in such a trip needed to be an active member to signup and also needed to maintain their Active membership through 2025 and 2026.  No Exceptions and no Excuses. So if you were to let your membership lapse then you would only be allowed to join a wait list as of the date you renewed your membership.

Like wise any member who signs up and wishes to be “Wait Listed” for a trip must also be an active member and must maintain that Active membership.

Trips are being scheduled earlier and earlier in advance to obtain preferred dates and accommodations. Correspondingly demand to participate in trips continues to be strong.  Typically once a trip is posted the number of openings are filled promptly within a week or so, if not within days.  And of course a wait list is initiated.  Thus it is in a members best interest to maintain an Active Membership to quickly take advantage of early trip postings.

Non-members may participate in other club activities either day or evening activities subject to the discretion of the Activity or Event Leader or at the option of the NH Ski Club Board. Typically such events have been used to promote club membership.
