  • Registrations close 24 hours prior to the paddle =  July, Fri at 9am
  • This trip is appropriate for most paddling abilities, (not novice).

  • Meet Time: 9:00 am  
  • Launch time:  BIB (butts in boats,) 9:30 am  
  • Paddling Time:  3.0 - 3.5 hours       2:00 pm                                                     Be respectful of others.  Be early & on time to depart at BIB!  
  •  Neal's Cove Boat Launch:  You will have to obtain a Hiking/Boat parking pass for parking at Neal's Cove for kayaking within 30 days of the trip, not the day of the trip: https://www.nhstateparks.org/visit/state-parks/pawtuckaway-state-park   
  •  Kayak Rentals:  Beach Parking Lot.- available at the Rental Shack which is located on the waterfront below the Camp Store.  Obtain a Beach parking pass for the Rental Shack @ the beach parking lot.   Purchase your parking pass within 30 days of the trip, not the day of the trip.  Rental prices  $15.00 per hour or $50.00 per day.  Rentals are a "first come basis".  BE EARLY!  Once you have your kayak/paddle/PFD, paddle to the right under the footbridge to meet the rest of us at Neal's Cove prompt at 9:30am.
  • FYI:  There is little to No cell service.  Text can sometimes get through.

From Neal's Cove, we will paddle Pawtuckaway Lake around the shoreline to Horse Island then Lunch Island up to a sandy beach by Drowns Dam for a swim and lunch stop. This is a longer distance paddle

  • Directions: Once you check - in at the Pawtuckaway Park entrance gate, continue about 1.5 miles.  Turn right to "Boat Launch Neal's Cove" sign to get to the parking lot.  You can park and wheel your kayak down to the Put-In, or if it is not busy, 2-3 cars can go down the road to the Put-In to unload, then return to the parking lot to park.  For the Beach Parking Lot, pass the Neal's Cove sign to see the Beach Parking lot on the left.  Walk towards the waterfront to see the Camp store, then the Rental Shack.        
  • Checklist of things to bring:

- PFD - Paddle(s) - Plenty of drinking water - Lunch/Snacks
- Bathing Suit/Towel/HAT - Insect repellent - Sunscreen
- Water Toys... Bilge/Hand Pumps double nicely as a water squirter!
- Rain Gear!... two 10 gallon bags have multi uses  - Kayak transport wheels 
Water Shoes, No flip flops! - Eye Glasses Keeper

  • As a NH Ski Club member, I will make sure I have the right supplies & equipment to keep myself safe while participating in this event along with any guest(s) I choose to bring.  I will keep up & stay with the group.  I will release my emergency contact information to the Trip Organizer and provide any guest(s) name and emergency contact information prior to the paddle. All Guest(s) will be required to sign a Disclaimer-Liability Release with emergency contact information.                                                
  • AS A CONDITION OF ATTENDING THIS KAYAK DAY TRIP, YOU AGREE TO: Hold harmless, and indemnify the organizer(s) and their relations and heirs, and all members and participants of the NH Ski Club from any and all claims for injury, illness, death, and/or property damage including those caused by negligence, ignorance, inexperience and other reasons. You also agree to assume all mental, physical, financial, and/or other risk associated with this NHSC activity. Kayaking, camping, hiking, skiing, bicycling and other activities pose inherent risks and dangers. Participation in these activities is voluntary and dependent upon your own personal judgement. In the interest of safety, wearing a US Coast Guard approved Lifejacket (PFD), securely fitted is required while paddling with this group
