#2 Kayak - Ocean Trip - Odiorne Point Boat Launch - Rye, NH

• THIS KAYAK OCEAN TRIP HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE PREDICTED RAIN WITH WINDS.  
• At this time, Carol Stevens and I do not have a reschedule date.  It was challenging to get the tide right for 6/17.  Sunday won't work for us.
• Thank You for signing up for this trip - hopefully you will be on the #3 Kayak trip 7/8 at Pawtuckaway State Park.  Remember to get your parking pass.   Nancy KC
•  Registrations close 24 hours prior to the paddle = June 16, Fri at 9am.
• This trip is appropriate for Blue/Black - Intermediate Level Trip:  able to paddle casual & continuous 3-5hrs + including experience & strength for control in challenging currents and windy situations. 
• A 12’+ Kayak with double hatch and spray skirt STRONGLY recommended to paddle on this more advanced paddle that may encounter strong current and winds. YOU must reserve your parking pass online within 30 days of the paddle:  Parking $5 fee for admittance unless a 65+ Senior = $1 online transition fee:   https://www.nhstateparks.org/visit/state      

• Meet Time: 9:00 am    Meeting time is due to tidal planning
• Launch time:  BIB (butts in boats,) 9:30 am  
• Paddling Time:  3.0 - 3.5 hours       2:30-3:00 pm                         Be respectful of others.  Be early & on time to depart at BIB!                                                        
• A coastal inner harbor trip with some boat traffic and the potential for impact from wind and tidal currents in several places.  We will paddle the Peirce Island backchannel to the Piscataqua River area, to Prescott Park, past Wentworth by the Sea, to Fort Stark.  Return to a little island park for lunch.  We will pass the breakwater to return to the beach at Odiorne for a swim.         
• As a NH Ski Club member, I will make sure I have the right supplies & equipment to keep myself safe while participating in this event along with any guest(s) I choose to bring.  I will keep up & stay with the group as a Blue/Black INT kayak level paddler.  I will release my emergency contact information to the Trip Organizer and provide any guest(s) name and emergency contact information prior to the paddle.

• Checklist of things to bring:

- PFD - Paddle(s) - Plenty of drinking water - Lunch/Snacks
- Bathing Suit/Towel/HAT - Insect repellent - Sunscreen
- Water Toys... Pumps double nicely as a water squirter!
- Rain Gear!... two 10 gallon bags have multi uses.    - Spray Skirt               Water Shoes, No flip flops!  - Kayak transport wheels

AS A CONDITION OF ATTENDING THIS KAYAK DAY TRIP, YOU AGREE TO: Hold harmless, and indemnify the organizer(s) and their relations and heirs, and all members and participants of the NH Ski Club from any and all claims for injury, illness, death, and/or property damage including those caused by negligence, ignorance, inexperience and other reasons. You also agree to assume all mental, physical, financial, and/or other risk associated with this NHSC activity. Kayaking, camping, hiking, skiing, bicycling and other activities pose inherent risks and dangers. Participation in these activities is voluntary and dependent upon your own personal judgement. In the interest of safety, wearing a US Coast Guard approved Lifejacket (PFD), securely fitted is required while paddling with this group.   All Guest(s) will be required to sign a Disclaimer-Liability Release with emergency contact information.
