  • Event Details:  The Depot Street Boat Ramp provides carry-in boating access to the Merrimack River. The boat ramp is also the site of Reeds Ferry, one of the two ferries that was active in Merrimack during the Colonial period. It was also the site of a Boston and Maine Railroad depot.  After unloading our kayaks, we have a 60+ yd portage on concrete, under the train bridge, to the boat ramp.  We can work together to assist one another and/or bring wheels to transport your kayak.
  • This is a recreational paddle with river current. We will head up river till we get to the shallow rapids, then cross the river to the right.  Continuing back down river,  we will take an inlet to the left. When we decide to come back up river there will be a sandy beach to stop for lunch/snacks.  If we are lucky, we will see American bald eagles.
  • We will be stopping at one of the beaches for lunch/snacks.
